प्रवरा संगम -
काही फारशी माहित नसलेली ठिकाणे , काही वेळा कित्तेक शतके मागे घेवून जातात. पुणे-ओरंगाबाद प्रवास प्रथमच करताना मी अशाच एका ठिकाणी पाण्यात बुडालेले जुने मंदिर पाहून थांबलो. राम-शिवाचे खूप जुने मंदिर आणि सभोवताली पाणी पाहून पुढे प्रवास करायचा विचार रद्द केला आणि मंदिर आणि नदी परिसर हिंडायचे ठरवले. अर्थात तो नदी परीसर हा गोदावरी आणि प्रवरा संगमचा होता. प्रवरे काठी आयुष्य जावूनही,
आपण इथे आलो नाही त्यामुळे थोडा स्वत:चा राग आला पण आता तरी चुकून आलो याचे समाधान वाटले. ६००-७०० वर्षा पूर्वीचे हेमाडपंथी मंदिर डोळ्याचे पारणे फेडतात.
त्यातच गोदावरी वरील धरणा मुळे व मानवाचे अतिक्रमण नसल्याने काही ठिकाणी दलदलीचा - गवताळ प्रदेश झाला आहे. अशा 'मानव' विरहीत ठिकाणी स्थलांतरीत पक्षी पण खूप दिसतात.

The Confluence of Pravara & Godavari Rivers -
When you visit some ancient place which is not publicly not known, it throws you back into ancient times. Accidentally, I bumped in to such a place recently on the Pune–Aurangabad highway. While driving, I noticed some submerged old structured temples while crossing the bridge. After further investigation about the place came to know that those are very ancient temples of Shiva and Rama. Visiting Ancient temples was enough motivation for me to explore this place... Temples were built based on ancient Maharashtra architectural style - Hemadpanti. In this style of architecture mainly basalt rocks are used and these rocks are easily available in western maharashtra. This style got its name from its creator - Hemadpant.
Since area is cut off from rest of human world, nature flourished in this area causing large area to be swamped and well covered with grass. While going to other side of river, I noticed many birds apart from normal duck and goose.
